I'm new to these cars with smaller engines. I have a 2004 Acura EL 1.7 with a manual transmission. At 110kph its reving at almost 3500 rpms. Is this normal for this car. Even at 100kpm its well over 3000.

I would do a shift count and make sure that transmission is in fact shifting 3 times and getting you into 4th gear.

ok the El shares the civic transmission and is a E.C.C.V. transmission.

if you rpm.s are high get that thing check ASAP. Take it to a dealer you trust and have them do a code pull.

if something is amiss leaving it alone WILL cost you more in the long run.
