ok so i bought a 1990 legend with a 2.7 V6 PGM-FI. i think i need new tranny because after about 2 week the tranny didnt want to shift out of 1st (the trans is auto) and now it wont go into reverse and i have to drop the shifter into the low 2 gear and because of that i cant go faster than 45 mph. the altenator is shot and i need a new on. i love the car and i want to keep it. if you think you might know whats wrong with the trans can you let me know and if not can you give me advise on some new parts. this will be my project car and i do plan on putting money into it. right now i dont have a lot of money so i cant go out and get the best parts i can but i want a little better than stock.any ideas please let me know

 

Hey, i'm a new guy here and dont know if anyone will read this, but the reason your car wont get out of 2nd and wont go in reverse is because the transmission is shot. I'm in a trany class right now at school, that is just a fail safe mode for you so you cant damage anything else. Get the tranny rebuilt, or get a new one. Hope that helps.
