Running Rich or Exhaust Leak?

Hey Guys,
I've only owned my 97' CL for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying it. The only issue is that after long drives (15+ miles) I wreak of gas. I will have my A/C on recirculate so I wouldn't assume that the smell is coming from other cars. My mileage is about 27 mpg on the highway which seems normal and my engine light is not on, so I don't think I'm running rich. Also, I have checked the exhaust with the car running and I can't detect an exhaust leak. So now I'm just confused. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this one would be very helpful.
