< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" =text/> </> I have driven a new 2008 TSX, 6M, for about ten days and have under 500 miles on it. When I park it in my garage, I smell a very noticable "hot iron" smell that no other new car I have ever owned had. I phoned the selling dealer's service department (about 40 miles away) and was told it is probably the exhaust system and that it will probably go away when the car has been driven more. Has anyone else experienced this? And did anyone else find out what it was? There are no other symptons that I can identify. < =text/> _uacct = "UA-939292-41"; urchinTracker(); </> |
If you don't have any warning lights on your dashboard you should be fine. I agree with the service department, It might by some factory substance that wasn't washed off properly and is giving out the smell

i have encountered a odd smell on some new exhaust systems in the past and yes they did fade after time.
but to be sure park the car outside away from your house till the smell goes away :) just incase. < src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-41"; urchinTracker(); </> |
</>I have a new 08 TSX as well. My wife also has a brand new Honda Civic. Both of these Honda products exude the same smell when parked in our garage... I believe I know exactly what you're talking about and my guess is that it's normal. Edited by: gremmy
