I just bough 2004 Acura TL and this is my first Acura. So far I like the car so much.
Today, I found out that I could not open the trunk using the trunk release under the steering wheel. I can open it using the remote key. Any one knows if this can be fixed easily. I just don’t want to go to the dealer and spend all of unnecessary money. I just tried it when I get off from my house to go to work. I have not done more investigation. I tried it when the engine is on and off, both condition the trunk release does not work but it works using remote. I appreciate your help, acurasienz |
i suspect a unplugged switch or bad switch.
double check those fuses. |
I know this is an old post and you have probably figured it out...
But incase not, I have your answer It is your valet switch. It disables opening your trunk by the button in the lower dash. That way you can lock something in the trunk and give your car to someone, and they cant get in it. To use it open your glove box in the dash and flip the switch. Then lock the glove box. Now the trunk can only be opened by remote, and by the master keys (which you hold on to). Then when you need to give the car to someone, give them the valet key (grey key) and put your valuables in the trunk. So to use your button on the lower dash again, flip that switch. |
AWSOME INFOTHANK YOU.
