I need some sugestions form fellow TL owners. Just purchased an 05 Tl with 38K. Love it. Dark Blue with Grey insides. I have been reading about people putting the AEM V2 Cold air induction on and getting about 3 mpg better. Seems a little far fetched for me, but who knows. I also have heard about chips and programmers doing the same thing??? Can anyone help stear me int he right direction?

AEM intake will increase the amount of air going to your engine, just like any other fire more air = bigger fire, in this case you get better combustion of your fuel leading to more power for the same amount of gas.

as for the chips, well. i had to laugh a little that you doubted the experiences of thousands of car enthusiasts but actually looked into a 5 dollar chip that's supposed to give you 50 HP and 30 MPG. well, if it was that simple, my TL would be getting 50MPG, and so would every other car in the world. it's a scam

I know most of the cheep chips are a scam. All I know is that I did own a vw passat for a while, and had it tuned to a 93 octain program and got about 3 mpg better as long as I kept my foot out of it. I just put a k&n filter in it, and am waiting to see. I talk to a guy that said he got about 2 better with the k&n. If I could get anothe 2-3 with an intake, I would be as happy as I am when the guy next ot me gets pulled over and not me. <G> What are your feeling about mpg with the intake and a program?

Thanks....

This is what I am trying to find out.. Is this true? I should know in a couple of days how much just the K&N will effect the mpg in the stock setup.
