Soft Brake Pedals(Brake Problems)
I ve been having this one stupid brake problem since who knows when and I am not about to give up arghhh. My brakes are like soft meaning the pedal has to be pushed down more then the regular, well the usual is to have the brake lines bled and so I did that. 2 weeks later it starts to go soft again so probably a fault master cylinder so I had that replaced and it was fine for like 2 weeks or so also then it went back to soft and I ended up double pumping to get the firmness back. The guy who did my bleeding and replacement of the master cylinder said maybe it could be the ABS modulator and that was expensive. A month later I decided to take it to Acura and then they just said they had to rebleed the system and well it was back to normal for like 2 weeks again or so and then it went soft and I decided since the worksmanship is warrantied I decided to bring it back but what do you know, those ******** over at Paragon Acura said there was nothing wrong with the brakes(obviously a lie) and said maybe you can give your front brake pads(aftermarket) a change and resurface the rotors. So I thought oh wells why and it was too late to back out since they were already charging for me for who knows what and the total cost was 340 <-- a rip off again. So about a few days ago I got my car back and still, it was the same. Now I am just left clueless, I ve been suggested brake lines but I dont think that might be it, so back to square one and there are no leakage of any brake fluid anywhere and the level seems to be full but everytime the system was bled which was like 3 times including the master cylinder replacement the firmness was back for like those 2 weeks until it starts to go soft. IF anyone has the same problems or have any ideas plz feel free to post your two cents
On my 94 Accord similar prob. My abs modulator went bad at 120k, and have been driving with reg brake since, and now Im at 195K. I notice the soft pedal if car is runnin hot for a while. Seems strange when it happens, but the mechanic sd all seemed good with pads and fluid. I have decided that as long as a second tap on the brake seems to recover the firmness of the pedal, and there has never been a prob stopping the car all is ok for now. With all this, I still have my guy chk the car shoes on a reg basis to give me the ok to keep diving. Gd luck
