We are considering the 07' TL and have heard a few things I was hoping to get confirmed from some owners out there.

First off, read on Edmunds thatthe TL is a gas guzzler and you'll be hard pressed to break 20 MPG. Especially if you drive with a heavy foot.

Second, heard from the Honda dealer that the TL requires Premium gas because of the way the engine is set up.

Can anyone comment. With gas at $3/gal these are concerns.

If you are replying, I'd be interested ot hear your overall satisfaction with the 2007 TL.

Thanks.

In overall conditions, we are getting around 23-24 mpg in the TL's.

Also, Acura does recommend premium fuel with the high output iVTEC motor. The service department at my dealership received confirmation from Acura that this is especially recommended at sea level. At a mile high, it is not as crucial.

Hope this helps.

Well I just turned in my "05" TL for the "07" and have noticed that it cosumes a bit more gas than the "05". I only use super which is burning a hole in my pocket but it keeps the engine running smooth plus the Acura mechanics recommend that we use 91 octane or higher

Just picked up my 07 2 months ago and think it is fantastic. In regards to gas consumption, I am averaging 25 with a combo city/hwy and took a trip a few weeks ago and averaged 30 mpg - right on the money stated on the sticker. I consider myself a fairly hard driver given my commute, and so far so good. I have a feeling people who are experiencing less than 20 MPG have not filled up their tank enough times......I might have gotten poor mileage at first, but now I'm on my 8th tank of gas and things are good.

It does require premium gas which is a decent chunk of change these days. Most, if not all, cars in this class do require premium so expect to shell out the extra $ at the pump.
