Question about Rims on my TL

Hey I have a 1997 3.2TL and I am going to get some 18" ADR Venomousrims for it, however my friend was telling me I should go with 17" because the 18" will be too close of a fit. Can I fit the 18" on my TL without changing anything?

You can fit up to 20 inch rims long as its the correct off set cause i have 20's on my TL
