Hey guys,


I recently bought an 06 TL. I love it, but it has some shortcomings which I thought I may be able to fix.


1) The doors don't auto lock when I start driving. (My 2001 base Grand Am had it) Is there anyway to program this at the dealer?


2) I like the windows coming down when you hold the key fob unlock for a couple of seconds, but can I disable, or change the settings so that I'd have to hold it for at least 5 sec.?


3) Does the car show average MPG?


4) Is there a way I can make the dealer upgrade the software so I can play MP3s on the sound system?

You can do this all through the Info Center (screen by your keys - displays odometer, miles to empty, etc). It's a little clumsy at first but once you play with it, it's easy. Check your manual too.

I guess I ca do MPG and stuff through the info center, but what about the auto locking doors and MP3 playback?

 

I thought the MID had the MPG's listed, I will double check. For MP3's, finally for 07, the radio will now be able to play MP3's and WMA files. They were a little behind in the times with that. Hope that helps a little..

 

With the auto lock doors, you can set it at the < > button. Just
click at press set to change driver's settings. Then it will ask you
about auto lock doors. You can set it to shift from park, more than 10
mph, or none.

 

Noooooo!!!! I have an 06...and I thought it had MP3 playback... I had read on different places on the web that it did, and my rep told me to. I think he was talking about iPod integration sort of thing. Can't I get it updated? I know on many BMWs, you can get it updated even after you purchase the car.
