This car has alot of power for a front wheel drive car, and it can peal out easily, sometimes too easily. You'll see a car coming down the road and hit the gas to get ahead and you peal out unexpectedly. now im sure this can be fixed with practice but what else can be done to get better traction using that power on the wheels rather than wasting it in rubber. would high performance tires be a good summer choice? a traction control system perhaps? I want to get the most out of this great acura engine

Tires make all the difference. I too was having issues especially in the wet with the stock Michelin's. I put on Goodyear F1 DS-G3's and they stick in the wetand dry. NOt for slush or snow. No more annoying squealing every time I pull into traffic, they just grip and go.
