Hey peeps. I'm new into this Acura world but just bought a 02 TL type S with 101K miles. Just recently my check engine light came on and I took it to Autozone. The code specified that its the Throttle Position Sensor. The car idles weird and sometimes shifting gears are off. The problem seems to be on and off. The check engine light goes off sometimes and the problem goes away.Acura told me that I need to replace it with a whole new throttle body. This is SUPER expensive. Since it doesn't happen often can't I just clean the sensor??? ANY ADVICE would be GREAT!!!!!!

 

you can try to clean it. all you can do is make it worse and you looking to replace it anyway so give it a shot.
