Acura tl 2004 headlight question.
ACURA TL 2004: HEADLIGHT QUESTION.
I bought a used ACURA TL with 122K miles. I live in Texas, where some of the roads have only one lane - each way. That being said, I find the light from my headlights, WOEFULLY INADEQUATE, when driving at night. My questions: 1. Can I install an extra set of headlights - if so, which one would you suggest? 2. Do the bulbs need to be replaced (They are in perfect working condition), should I replace these with a higher intensity bulbs? Any advice in this are will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance |
What kind of headlight do you have on your 04? Regular Halogen presumably? I also have an 04 with HID (High Intensity Dischage) headlights and they are fabulous. Rather than changing bulbs or adding lights (which would also likely be halogen), I would suggest finding a wrecked Gen 3 TL that has the HID headlights and buying those used headlights to replace yours. It is not a simple bulb replacement. You will need to replace the whole headlight unit as the HID's include a transformer needed to provide the proper voltage.
To see what they are like, suggest you go to an Acura dealer and test drive a new TL that has the headlights some evening. |
Super driving lights would be my choice...ones that you can turn off by their selves separate from all others.. This way you dont blind the people comeing towards you..

Since you live in Texas, you could call Newman's Automotive for advice. They're a car repair shop in Austin. Here's their website where you can find their number. http://www.newmansauto.com/
