2003 tl-s another Tranny question

I bought a certified 2003 tl-s in 2006 with 40k miles. At 60k tranny went bad, they replaced trans, both parts, no questions asked and gave me a car for a week and didn't have to pay a nickel. I got 120k on it now and when I accerlerate hard, it slips and not real bad, it just enough to notice the revs don't match the movement. So besides feeling really sick to my stomach with the anticipated replacement. It also doesn't clunk then shifting into gear or hesitate, it's only when accelerating hard, the slight slipping. I use my manual option fairly often and I've quit accelerating hard and no problem, but obviously I've got issues. Thoughts? I"m almost done paying for this thing and was hoping to get another 100k out of it. Am I doomed for a new tranny?

Don't be jumping to conclusions, Hobie.....

There is definitely a problem, but it may not be terminal. Take the car to a good quality independent transmission shop (AAMCO or someone similar) and have them take a look at it. They may be able to make some adjustments on the tranny.

Have you checked the tranny fluid lately? Check it warm with the car on level ground. It could just be a simple matter of being low on fluid.

I'm wondering if your replacement tranny was not the one they were supposed to install.

I bought a 2003 3.2 TL-s (+Nav) in 2007 with 80k, and tranny went out big time a year later. Took it to Aamco and the owner told me there is an issue with those tranny's and they made the correction in some rebuilds, and that's what Aamco will put in yours. Cost me about $3,200 with 3 yr warranty ($2,900 without warranty).
