acura made changes to the rsx type s for the 2005 model year. horsepower was increased from 200 to 210 cuz of the upgrades, which included new camshafts, larger intake & larger exhaust pipe. they also lowered the drive ratio and added carbon sychronizers on 5th and 6th gear. the 05's are also stiffer.

i just bought a type 3 in november, so i did a lot research. these were the reasons i went with an 05 over an older model. they cost a little more, but IMO its worth it. plus, the design is a little different, which i like.

side note- the manual trans tend to have problems,specifically grinding between gears (mostly 1st and 2nd). make sure you test drive and check maintenance records!

good luck!

the grinding of the gears happens in all cars that have the lifetime transmission fluid. your best bet is to replace that with the redline transmission fluid and save yourself the hassle. lifetime fluid breaks down just like any other fluid in your car and you shouldn't depend on it for the life of your car. at about 70-80K miles, you should go ahead and change the fluid< src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" ="text/"></>< ="text/">_uacct = "UA-939292-41";

Yeah. I also plan this once. To get a high-revving V6 engines and sports suspensions, but also came with the luxury and high-tech goodies Acura had become known for.
