My buddy just bought a 2003 rsx 5spd auto/sportmatic, he says it has 200 hp and according to his mgr's at the acura dealership in montgomeryville, pa it does. But I know it has a 160 hp engine. Also, do any of the rsx's same type (not the type s) have a different engine?? or is it possible to special order the rsx to have a 200 hp engine (but not a type s model).

If anyone have any comments please let me know a-sap...

i would not be surprised if, for enough money, you could get the upgraded motor in the non-S.

I would think that it would be more trouble than it's worth. You would
most likely have to modify the differential, tranny, engine mounts and
other pricey components besides the engine. Good Luck, though.

i believe that the only items that you would have to get to install the type-s engine yourself would be the computer, the harness, and the engine itself. I am not certain, but I believe that all models of thr RSX come with the K20 motor. I know that the type s does, and i think that the base model may come with a lower power version of the same.

I agree but I still think it would be a lot of trouble and probably more expensive than just buying a type S.

a good intake header exhaust combo should add anywhere from 15 to 20 whp.
