Left side directionals out
 

Hello, Brother-in-law's 2000 RL has failed left blinkers.

New relay ($95) from the dealer lasted 5 seconds then the left blinkers died again. This takes out the emergency flashers too.

I checked the dual filament bulb and it was good.

I suppose checking each circuit for abraded wires (with a volt meter) is next.

Do the switches in these cars go bad? TIA
