I have a 1998 3.5RL with the check engine light on. The vehicle has approx. 88k on it. The maint. light was flashing. I went through the reset on the maint. light and that has stopped flashing. I also referred to my owner's manual and went through the initial troubleshooting steps. The gas cap was on securely and I have driven the suggested 3 trips and the check engine indicator is still on. Do I have anything major to worry about? Is there something not listed in the manual that I can do before incurring the expense of a dealership service call? I would greatly appreciate any input that anyone can offer. Thanx, T |

hope you were able to get you car fixed by now. for most of the models there were emission warranty extensions that would cover charges at the dealerships. but there may be diagnostic charges involved, but you can call and ask first.
