I have a 2005 RL AWD with 27,000 miles. My first experience driving in snow in Northern Colorado is not good. Are new tires going to make much difference? Any recommendation on specific tires?

welcome to colorado. i will wave at you next time we pass. :)

i would recommend a aggressive snow tire not a all season tire
have then installed in november but keep your old tire and have the all season ones reinstalled in april. most tire shops will do this for free if you buy the tires from them.

some people will buy a second set of rims so they dont have to mound and ballance them 2 times a year.

i also run crappy used steel rims on my aggressive snow tires. very cheep and when i slide it into a curb due to the snow and ice. i dont care if i bend a 10 dollar rim. that 200 dollar alloy on the other hand hurts when it gets whacked
