Removing glass pieces from tailgate
 

Hi,

I have a 2021 RDX, the rear windshield recently shattered due to the cold and broke into small pieces as it's tempered glass. I took it to one of the national vendors that specializes in glass repair. They replaced the glass but said that some pieces of the glass fell into the opening in the tailgate as they were removing the glass and they could not remove it. I called acura service to see if they could remove the glass, they said that that glass replacement vendor has a tool that can do this but they insist they cannot remove the glass pieces because the RDX and MDX don't have a wide enought slot in the tailgate to vacuum out the glass. Acura says they can't do this and I may need to take it to a body shop to remove the panels from the tailgate. Any thoughts, suggestions on this? I have to believe this problem happens all the time and that the glasss replacement place vendor should be able to fix this.
