Passenger Seat Heater
I just bought a new RDX. The first time I took my wife for a drive she complained that the seat back does not heat. A little research reveals that Acura doesn't heat the seat backs because there are sensors there to detect children passengers.
Has anyone been able to resolve this? On the hierarchy of important features for a luxury suv in Canada heated seats come in just below wheels (hover cars not withstanding). If I cant find a way to make my wife comfortable in the RDX, then we'll be driving her VW and I might as well sell it. wcn |
Hate to say it , but time to sell it already...

You'd really suggest selling a car because of one feature?

Passenger Seat Heater
Its not just a simple "missing feature". Its the seat my wife sits in. We take long hikes, runs, x-country ski trips all year round and when she gets in the car tired and frequently cold she wants to be:
a)comfortable and warm b)assured that her back isn't going to seize up So instead of driving our brand new RDX on such excursions I've had to revamp the suspension on our tired 10 year old VW Passat and we take that. So what good is the car? An engineering decision like that says that they have decided to balance the safety of an illegally seated child against every single adult ever seated in the passenger seat. Every passenger is a second class citizen in this car. They spent a fortune on climate control and ignored the simples 30 year old feature. So the Acura's for sale. If I can get close to what I paid I'll buy a Q5 or GLK, both of which are available with paddle shift and proper seat heaters. wcn |
