2017 RDX Timing Belt
Hello Friends!
I have a 2017 RDX. 75,000 Miles. (driven in mild California Weather)
I am not sure if the MM ever gave a reminder code for Timing Belt.
The Honda dealer said 7 years for change. Is the 7 year 100k rule for extreme conditions? Just trying to understand if this can wait or should be done immediately.
Also, I take my Acure to a Honda Service station as I also have a Honda Pilot so both go to the Honda service station.
Thank you in advance.

For most Honda products, the general rule is 7 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The reason for the criteria of time is a belt ages over time due to environmental factors that come into play. It of course is your call as to whether you chose to abide by the general rule but I would take some time to seek out an independent mechanic and consider getting it done. Unfortunately timing belts don't give much if any warning when they begin to fail. Dealers will tend to be high priced and upsell you as well.
