Yesterday afternoon, 3pm to be exact, I caught an idiot with a death wish trying to break in to one of my customers' car. He had already broken into my garage and was attempting to open the door of the car when I popped in on him breaking the lock on the door of a TL that I was doing a maintenance service on. Needless to say, the surprise was on him...! He's in critical condition at a near by hospital due to the beating that was served to him by a friend that was with me. My buddy and me had a good old time beating on him, mercilessly![img]smileys/smiley4.gif[/img]


Any way, to get to my question/ remark. Has the economy gotten so bad that people are now resorting to stealing from other people to get what they want?Damned if I would let any one else get away alive after causing me this sort of headache. I don't know how any one else on this forum feels about this sort of thing but knowing how hard people work for their things... I don't think many will be against what I've done with my friendto that idiot. I would have finished him andburried him in my back yard if it wasn't for my neighbor calling the police. Good thing I have friends on the force or it would be a long weekend for me. I still have to go to court but, again, I have friends. Thank god for that. [img]smileys/smiley14.gif[/img]

A customer of mine recently had all the scale cables cut and stolen off their portable concrete batch plant. around 1000 ft of cable. why? because the copper in the lines can be sold for scrap. The f**ked up thing is the wires in the cables are TIN. and ain't worth crap. Cost them over 3k to repair because 2 load cells were cut to close to splice. My guess to the reason of the cable theft is not the economy but rather meth/crack/coke.
The TL theft attempt is concerning for a diferent reason. Do you do alot of honda/acura work? I ask because a TL is not a general target like a teg or swapped civic. But it does have it's pricey parts. Airbag theft has been on the rise as of late in all cars. unused airbags can go form 250 to 1000 for a full set on ebay.
Auto theft makes me sick. 100 years ago stealin a mans horse was a hangable offense. But these are gentler times I guess. I still remember a long and heated discussion with a teacher of mine about why I couldn't shoot someone who was stealing my car stereo. 14 years later i've allways understood why I can't do it, but I don't agree with it.
The economy is so bad I saw a gas station in denver go out of buisness. Everyones money is going in their gas tank. And all the goods and services we pay for are generally brought to us by diesel power,even our gasoine. have you checked out the price of diesel lately? $4.80 a gallon for half processed gas. The price of diesel is whats driving up the cost on everything in my opinion. Think about it, almost everything we buy at the store was shipped their by diesel transport. 6 years ago diesel cost around the same as standard unleaded, now it's 80+ cents a gallon more and being put in trucks that get 6-10 miles to the gallon. It's not just our gasoine bills going up, it's all our bills. grocery,electricity,tv,water,trash all are going up due to the staggering cost of diesel. I say open up ANWR now so our kids have a fighting chance at a decent future.

We suffer due to his lack of leadership skill and poor care for our national needs. He and his politics do not impress me one bit. The minute he got to the captains chair, I predicted where this country was heading. What makes it worse is that he got a second term and ruined this countries reputation. I'm no fan of our government, but both political parties have failed our country ,miserably!
I'm with Lou Dobbs, at CNN, when he says, quote, " Don't Americans deserve a government that works?" ,unquote. I like his show. It opened my mind and reasoning a lot.
My philosophy on thieves is as follows; If you catch them in the act, as I did, it's fair game on their ass! No law can prosecute you for defending your property on your property. With the way criminals are these days, they just don't rob you and let you free... they want to do you harm as well. To me, all's fair in that war against the thief!
It's too bad about that damage done to your customers' property. I really fell for hard working people like that. That's why I have no pity on idiots that would risk death stealing from me. It's not in my nature to be violent towards any one, but criminals burn me to no end! That's why they will get what they get if, and when, they cross me!!! May be we should go to how it was 100 years ago. Some countries still chop off the hands of thieves as punishment... Why shouldn't we? I know that it would deter those idiots. Death is final, but to have limbs missing and every one know why they are missing, it's for ever!

Our government has definatly let us down. Both parties care not for us but for themselves. Every election is like which foot do you want to get kicked in the nuts from. I was really pullin for huckabee. abolishment of the IRS really appeals to me. Flat tax rate is a sweet idea. I want the national government smaller and state governments larger. States should have more flexability in how it applies it's resources and laws. Some guy who is from Florida, living in DC should not be able to govern and dictate how I live my life in Colorado. He has never even been here! Argh! Enough about the gov were here to talk cars. My Engine is running good and I got half a tank of 94 octane left. I am gonna hit some golf balls and then carve some back mountain roads. I suggest we all do the same.

Amen to that!!! I'm going to see whatI can do to repair my garage door and the small amount of damage done to the TL. Then I'm going to ride my bike up to Bear Mt., in N.Y.,and feel the breeze through what little hair I have left on my head... Great minds think alike...
