Hi. Hoping somebody can help me re my 5-speed manual, 4-door, 1992 Acura Vigor - 185,000 + miles (don't know particulars about the engine or transmission, sorry). It seems as though the engine shakes; it shudders when idle or in neutral at a red light or stop sign. The sound is noticeable when this occurs. What are your thoughts? Much appreciated!

Well, if by tuneup you mean the typical checking of the sparkplugs & that kind of thing, it's been a long time. Easily more than a year. I get the oil changed every 3,000 miles (Jiffy Lube). Do places such as Jiffy Lube give cars a tuneup as part of a standard oil change?

im sure they do but you would be far better off going to a actual repair shop.

and the tuneup i would have done should include

cap
rotor
spark plugs
plug wires
pcv valve
air filter
maybe a fuel filter as well.
then have the timing checked
also have the oxygen sensor checked for performance.

also get a second opinion on this issue.
i would hate to see all this tuneup money being spent to find out it was bad gas.
