Whats the diff between a type 1 and type 2 engine
 

Im gettin a full JDM swap from my type 1 to a type 2 cuz the head gasket got blown. To much of a hastle to fix it, but my mechanic took off the type 2 intake manifold from the new engine because it wouldnt pass the emmisions test. He replaced it with my the type 1 intake manifold from my old acuras motor. I dont know if this will affect the performance or what it will do. If anything can someone please let me know thanks.

You will need that intake as its for theat motor. what makes the type 2 motor diff from the typ 1 is the heads intake and exast manifolds and o2 sensors. you will need a type 2 ecu or get your ecu chipped! with out the ecu the car run but will cut off! it happend to firend of mine. i told him he will need the ecu but the macanic said he wouldnt need it so when his wife was driving it cut off on her in traffic! it started back up but it happend again so she made him sale it!

also the trans is different it has lower gears then the type 1 so it better for speed.
