Hey everyone...here's the deal! I have the upcoming week off from work and I plan to spend some time replacing the shocks/struts and EGR valve/soleniod on my L. I have a 1995 Legend L with over 200,000 miles. Car still runs strong, but is in desperate need of these replacement items. Can anyone recommend a brand of shocks/struts that I could go with? The car is my daily driver, so something similar to stock would be fine. However, I would not mind going with a performance type setup provided it won't severly compromise ride comfort. I was just thinking of going to Auto Zone and buying a set of Gabriel brand shocks/struts, but I'm not sure if these are the best to go with on an Acura Legend.

I'm also planning to do an oil change, but this time make the switch to synthetic (probably Mobil 1). Also, I believe the catalytic converter may need to be replaced. Does anybody know how I can verify this? It's the stock cat., but I was thinking that if I have to replace it, a relative of mine can get me a REALLY good price on a high-flow cat. The car does smoke a little on most start-ups and under acceleration most of the time (typically under hard-acceleration). I have been attributing this to the EGR valve needing to be replaced, but I'm not entirely sure.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Bump. Good thinking of including your cat in your list of parts that needed to be replaced. Go for high flow cat. You could gut it but be reminded that if you will replace the cat, make sure it is the legal part just to make sure. Good luck.
