what would allow one wheel/axel to rotate without the other ..... trans or differential?


i assume differential but ive never opened up either of them. axel is not bad or a least from what i see where it slips into....any suggestions ??

by def a open differential will allow 1 wheel to spin without moving the other.

now if you have a car tha no longer moves and when its jacked into the air only 1 wheel moves then look into broken axles.

if ANYTHING is moving then its not the transmission.
i guess you could have blown the side gears out if the diff. i have never seen it but hell anything is possiable.

i get no movement on either side when jacked and in gear...just a turning/zipping sound.... i assume now trans ??
