im a dsm guy but like honda/acura as well, (will be getting a dd gsr eventually)

anyways i have some questions for you guys that im asking for a buddy of mine with a 4 door 96' LS...
he's looking into putting on a turbo after being unsatisfied with the usual bolt ons, i/h/e.
I told him id be happy to help him with turbocharging his car since i have some experince with my dsm (running 20 psi daily)

well he found a kit on ebay that he seems to like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-Ser...A2-B18-Civic-A cura-Integra-Kit-w-IC_W0QQitemZ140162264160QQihZ004QQcategor yZ33742QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

what do you guys think?

what is missing from the kit that we will need to put this on and drive other than the boost controller and little things like that?

what should we do about fuel supply, injector size?, pump?, regulator?

how about tuning would a apexi neo work?

do you think this motor will hold up?

would it benefit from lower compression pistons?

sorry for the un-organized post and somewhat random questions i just want to know what will be needed to get this project strated so he dosnt buy this and have it sit in the garage for a year

ok on a stock 96 i would stop the boost at 6psi tops 7, more will shorten your rods.

and 6psi is a kick in the butt.
there are ways to boost fuel pressures and you will need to do so.

at 6-7psi you NOT need bigger injectors. but it wouldnt hurt.

the apexis is a fun system but unless your close to a dyno tester and willing to spend A LOT of time there they tend to hurt performance.

the stock fuel pump can handle the fuel needs of a 6-7 psi system.

to go safely past 7 pounds of boost you need to girtle the cylinder walls and replace the rods and pistons.(it would be cheeper to cut the car in 1/2 and turn it into a 2 door)...i have seen 700 horse gsr cars...with $40,000 engines.

should i rewire the fuel pump to lower the voltage drop just to be safe or is it pointless? i doubt his car will be over 7 psi ever. so are you saying unless we have a dyno, dont use the safc?

(do you think the turbo in the link i posted is crap or will it be ok for this guy? hes not drag racing or anything just wants some more power when he needs it and still be reliable)

as far as fuel pressure mods i would look into a vacume controlled/boost controlled 1 that piggy backs the factory 1.

IMO the apexi is a wast of money unless your hitting a dyno or know someone who knows how that thing works.

and understands fuel trims/ has the test equipment to moniter how it is affecting your system.

do you have a link to the fuel control that you are talking about by any chance

is this what would be recomended? but in a 10:1 ratio?
