I have a 1996 Integra RS. When the check engine light on, Ibrought the car to dealer to check. They did a compression test found 3 of the cylinders are 125 PSI and one 100PSI. They recommend repair/replacement of the engine to correct low compression.

I am wondering the 100PSI is such a big deal that require replacement. Is there a way to fix it?

Thanks.

before dropping 2-4k into getting a engine in there.

i would run some or the fuel injector/valve cleaner through it.

its possiable the the engine is junk.

but its possiable that the thing is so gummed up that its not able to seal those valves shut.

also if a valve adjuster has tightened its self up it can cause low compression because the valve isn't shutting.

do you have visable smoke when you start the car in the morning?

does it rattle a lot until it warms up?

does it run kinda shakie?

i just fixed a 94 prelude with a $5.00 pcv valve
the dealer told him it needed a new engine because it was smoking all the time. $5,000.00...the valve had stuck open and was sucking up all the engine oil and running it right into the intake. and out the tail pipe.

so always get second opinions on big repairs.

if the doc said we have to cut off your foot because your toe hurt wouldn't you go see some one else before doing so? would suck to find out that it was only a hangnail after the fact.
