How-To Article: Replacing the Intake Air Temperature sensor on a '95 Integra

What's up guys!

I really do have an extensive collection of DIY write-ups that I've created throughout my mechanical travels, so I hope that you guys enjoy wrenching on your Acura models as much as I do :p Without further ado, here is the procedure for replacing the Intake Air Temperature sensor on a '95 Integra GS-R:

**Before you embark on this job**

It's a good idea to consult a diagram in order to locate where all of the relevant components are located: Integra Intake Manifold diagram Note that the IAT sensor is ref #18 in this diagram.

It's also a sagacious idea to test the IAT sensor first before deeming it necessary for replacement. Here is the procedure for testing it:

*The IAT sensor can be monitored with an appropriate and Data-stream capable scan tool.

1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the IAT sensor.

3. Measure the resistance between the sensor terminals.

4. Compare the resistance reading with the accompanying chart.

5. If the resistance is not within specification, the IAT may be faulty.
Connect the wiring harness to the sensor.

--Removal and Installation procedure--

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Detach the IAT sensor electrical connector.

3. Remove the retaining screws from the sensor (some models may unscrew from the manifold).

4. Remove the IAT sensor from the intake manifold.

To install:

1. Coat the sensor threads with Teflon sealant.

2. Install the sensor into the intake manifold.

3. Attach the connectors on the IAT.

4. Connect the negative battery cable.

5. You're done! :)

I have a 91 Integra where the fan continues to run after engine shutdown even when temp is not hot. Do you have any recommendation on a fix or what my issue might be?
