trying to pull out my exterior door handle and can't. I can't get the
acuating rod detached. Is there any special way to get it off. All the
haynes manual says it to detach it.

sorry the reply is too late but you just have to pry the rod off of the
lever arm. that little yellow clip holds on damn tight.

wd-40 never hurts
