I just picked up an Integra Ls 2000 a few weeks ago. Im now trying to get it to pass emissions but the check engine light wont turn off. It is on when the car is off but turns off when the car ison. If anyone has any idea what is going i could use the help.

 

did you pull codes for the problem?

i also have the same car (same yr, and trim).. so i can send you the appropriate code answer key for that engine if youd like..

i would just open the gauges and pull the bulb for the time u need to pass then plug it back in

 

doesnt always work, they scan the vehicles using there computer.

 

pulling the buld will also stop you from beind told where there is a more pressing issue.

so i need to verify this.

when the car is off the light is on???

like when the keys are in your hand

or in the ignition but not in the run position?

if the light is on and the keys are in any other position other than run/start the you have a wire/pcm problem

it cant be a short because it will go out if its running.

SO...it is only controled by the pcm therefor im betting on a flakie pcm.



last bit of hope for you. are there any other lights that come on at the same time as the check engine light?

and does this vehicle have a after market sterio or alarm?
