Hello all, I have a 97 integra and I need some help.. I cant get the car to turn on..

Here are the steps (or miss-steps) I did in chronological order, any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

1) I turned my car off and took the battery out to start another car who's battery was completely dead and a jump wasn't working.

2) Upon placing the battery back into my own car the horn began to go off, I must say I no longer have the alarm clicker to turn the alarm off.

3) I pulled the fuse to the horn out.

4) Once the battery was in, the lights and everything else turns on but it wouldn't start the engine (it wouldn't turn over).

5) I called a dealer and all he said was that I needed my radio code.

6) I found my radio serial # along with the 5 digit radio code and typed it in via the radio, once completed there was a beep and the radio now works but the car still does not turn on.

7) I then called the dealer back and now he says that I might have a starter problem or something else and that I should take it in..

The problem is that I can get the car started to even take it in... Is there a kill switch? I have a feeling it has to do something with the alarm or anti-theft device, but is there anything else that can be done without jumping through hoops and talking to someone over the phone?? should I buy a new fuse (like the horn fuse I first took out)?

Thank you very much for your time...

yeah ive had this problem before, you prolly need to have your alarm system looked at. i had mine completely taken out, just because of this problem. we actually had a 94 civic that constantly needed a jump so this was always a problem. but just have it looked at u mite need a reset if its possible

yup sounds like a alarm issue.

put that horn fuse back in and see what happens there.

i think you can disarm the alarm by putting the key into the drivers door and lock/unlock it a few times.

Hello guys,

I put the horn fuse in after I hooked the battery back up. I have also locked and unlocked the driver side door many times (I no longer have the alarm clicker).

Is there an alarm fuse that I should be looking for? or should I replace the horn fuse (with a new one) that I originally pulled out?

Again, than you for all your help...

ok here is the deal... i am a professional car audio installer... it is def from your alarm!!! depending on what type of alarm it is here is the basic way to solve your issues.
1. there will be a black box (the brain) of the system up in the wiriing above your pedals (if not there iti will be in the side kick panel, beside the clutch pedal) there will (or should be) a toggle switch there that reads ON/OFF try flipping it off then back on...MIGHT work

2. next step would be to find any fuses in that brain or in the wiring from the vehicle harness to the after market brain if all else fails i would unplug all of the wiring gong to that brain then you will be without it and you should be able to start the car

once that happens i would take it to an electronics installer and have that thing removed... lemme know how it works out, hope this helps
