1996 Integra RPMs are high when idle
A couple of months ago my Integra started overheating and the RPMs were all over the place. I took it into the Honda dealer for service. They replaced the thermostat and the plug in the back of the engine but when I got the car back the RPMs were high when the car was idling and there was a noise coming from the engine. I took it back and they said that the corner of the floor mat was on the accelerator that's why it was idling high (really? I guess the noise from the engine was caused by the mat as well.) They also told me I needed a new rack and pinion unit so I took it to an independent garage. They looked at it and told me I need new spark plugs (sigh). Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in the San Francisco Bay area ( Burlingame to San Jose) ?
