When buying a turbo kit for a 98 gsr not sure on the engine types on those..dont really know much of what they b16's and 18's stand for, but anyways my question is when buying a turbo kit what are the neccessary stuff you should get to upgrade it for the turbos requirements, can you list most of them so please? Thank you in advance.

your engine code is a B18C1. This is important when you order parts. if you can afford it almost all companies make complete kits. the kit has all the piping, wires, intercooler and mating fixtures. upgrade your fuel system buy a tunable ECU. change out your pistons for a lower compression ones. If your gonna run boost over8-10 psi better strenghten the top end. What are your goals for this car? The GSR has a high compression naturally aspirated engine thatis not designed for a turbo setup at all. Is this your daily driver?

Yeah I would like to make it a daily driven car but also, a project car in the works, I just want to mention I dont have one yet but it is a car I plan to buy, what do you mean by naturally aspirated? And putting a turbo on it wouldn't be a wise choice?

A car that's Natural Aspirated or N/A means that it runs buy sucking in air as opposed to a turbo or supercharged car where the air is forced into the engine buy the turbo or supercharger. this is called forced induction. [img]smileys/smiley2.gif[/img]So the two types are N/A or forced induction. The GSR engine has ahigh piston compression ratio of around 12:1. Forced induction engines have a much lower compression ratio of around 7:1. So to turbo or "boost" the GSR you need to lower the compression ratio of the engine. The engine is more expensive than say a GS motor because it's factory tuned at a higher compression ratio. The Acura IntegraGS engine has a compression ratio of 9:1. This version of the car costs less, will handle boost better and if you blow up the motor( which might happen [img]smileys/smiley6.gif[/img]) a new one is 1100$ vs. a GSR which is 2500$ I feel like I'm babbling am I making sense?

Yeah you are making sense so it would be better to buy a gs then a gsr for turbo? Or If I wanted the Gsr, I would have to fix the comrpession ratio and other things?

yup. Have you considered nitrous? a40 shot on a gsr with upgraded intake, throttle body,headers, exaust and some cams would scream and make the mullet on mustang guy quiver!

Nitrous well..I wanna keep it street legal and I dont think here in Canada its legal to run nitrous while driving, but yeah when installing the turbo kit lets keep it to a gsr, can you list the mods or a couple that you would have to make so that it dosn't blow your engine and that your engine can handle all the boost.

pistons, camshafts, Intakemanafold,fuel injectors, fuel pump, fuel lines, head gasket, ECU, all the turbo goodies, turbo timer and probibly 10 other things I can't think of. Where in Canada do you live?

the nearest large city to youshould have several shops that can do the motor work and install the turbo. Good luck!
