Hi, I have an 1997 1.6 EL. Lately when the car has been running for a while and is hot, notice a slight shutter when in D4 at take off....like the transmission is slipping. Then the MIL came on - service dept. says I need a shift speed sensor, and recommends a fluid change. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Thanks

ok, just my opinion for first step is fluid change. when the last you change transmission fluid?

The transmission was serviced about 35,000 KM ago...all maintenance has been performed up to date. I actually had it repaired as per the dealership's diagnosis, along with some other maintainance, at the cost of $800, take the car home and it's still doing the same thing. Taking it back today. I'm not a happy camper.

Today the dealership could not confirm what is wrong with my transmission, but they want to put in a used transmission and charge me another $2200. How much are new transmissions?
