I have a problem with the car not starting when the
weather is hot. The starter will crank but it just won't turn over. when it cools down at night/morning, it's just fine. I've heard theories ranging from the control module in the distributor to the fuel filter. At 266,000 miles, I can't complain.Any expertise you folks can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Here are a few reasons why cars will not start when Hot... Air filter clogged....Fuel not reaching the the fuel injector system (fuel pressure checker) to analyze this, and believe this or not...coroded battery cable connections, especially the ground cable... Check this out and let me know...WheelBrokerAng < => <!-- var SymRealOnLoad; var SymReal; Sym() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymReal != null) SymReal(); } SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymReal = window.; window. = Sym; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //--> </>Edited by: WheelBrokerAng |
Today, I tried changing out the air filter, which was
(necessary anyway) It started right up once. Then I tried to start it again. Out of 6 or 7 times, it started twice, then no more.I got a faint whiff of fuel. It just cranks, but won't turn over. Possibly a fuel system issue? Clogged fuel filter? Not enough initial pressure on startup? Any other ideas? Again, thanks for any assistance. |
