i have a 98 Integra and i have one question what does the maintance required light mean when its on does it mean it need a tune up or what im not really familiar with acuras i just bought this car like a week ago

 

did you put a cold air intake on it. most of the time its the o2 sensor or the intake sensor. Could be needing a tune up 2. new plugs,wires,air filter, and oil change.

The Maintenance Required light is on my TL (flashing when starting) as a reminder that an oil change is required...the manual gives instruction on how to reset this...turn key to accessory position, hold down Select and Reset buttons (for trip odometer), turn ignition on while continuing to hold the buttons for an additional 10 secs (will beep) and the light will not return next start.

The maintenance required light means you need to do a tune up.

 

The maintenance required light is there for exhaust emission reasons, whether you believe it or not.If the light is on, it is simply a mileage trigger.

 

This indicator reminds you that it is time to take your car in for scheduled maintenance.For the first 6,000 miles (9,600 km) after the Maintenance Required Indicator is reset,it will come on for 2 seconds when you turn the ignition switch ON.

 

Maintaince light means you should now go for servicing of the vehicle.
