i have an 87 legend and i have an issue as soon i start my car it dies imedeatly then it wont start and die till i let it sit i was thinking maybe i have a bad spark plug i parked it at the store came back and that happend but im thinkin maybe it was a spark plug because my alternator went out on the freeway recently and sparked way late making a bigger than normal cumbustion. im not sure what exactly it is has anyone had this problem please let me know if you can help thanks

Are you saying it dies when you return the ignition switch to the run position? Does the instrument panel die as well? If so the ignition switch is bad. This can be intermittent, at first.

the dash lights and tail lights allready did not work i havnt changed the combination switch the car does turn over after turning over dies imedatly ive givin it gas as i was starting it and the gas goes through fine, if it is my ignition switch could it just go out like that with out warning?>

No it is not easy to change and yes it is probably expensive if you have to ask! You should get a good manual and do some hands on diagnostics. Edited by: alangrwd
