I have a 94 Legend with a 3.2 V6. It has blown head gaskets. I have found a 91 3.2 v6 that i can get cheaper than replacing head gaskets and it has far less miles than my engine. I have talked to several people and some say 91 thru 94 are the same and others say they arent. I know one is a type II engine(only the GS?). I need to know if the regular "type 1" engines are the same and if they are compatible.

Motor things like this are a very complicated type 1 and type 2 are not the same, are they compatible depends on what your trading heads I think will be the same. Your wire harness will be diff your blocks all the same but your Timing belt and water pump is diff. some Type 2 have a different axle set up so there are some things that are problems. I would reccomend the same type 1 if your going that route dont try to missmatch you will just have many problems. You can get it to work but it would be more trouble then it needs to be. GOOD LUCK
