i have a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL and i bought it about 2 months ago, and after about the 3rd day i had it, i noticed the transmission was acting unusual, and it was missing gears when the engine got hot. so i took it to a transmission place and had them fix it for 1400$ after that the Check Eng. light went off but the Maint. Req. light is still on, what could be the cause of this? and also about 4 days ago, my heating and air wont work normaly anymore. the fuse is fine but any other ideas? help is appriciated.. thanks

I think all modern cars have a Maintenance Required indicator. It is a great device to get owners into shops to spend enormous amounts of money on service. Somewhere in your owners manual will be instructions on how to reset the indicator; you will not find a reference to it in the index. You will just have to read and read till you find it. My Legend simply requires inserting the ignition key into a hiden slot in the dash and presto, the indicator is cleared for another 3000 miles.

ACURA HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON ALL TL TRANNIES FROM 99-02 AND MOST 03'S. IF YOU ARE UNDER 109K ACURA WILL PAY FOR IT OR REIMBURSE YOU THE MONEY YOU SPENT. THE MAINT LIGHT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ENGINE OR OTHER PROBLEMS. IT COMES ON EVERY 7500 MILES AND NEEDS TO BE RESET. WHAT ABOUT THE CLIMATE CONTROL? NEED MORE INFO.

I have the same car and some of the same problems. There was actually a class action lawsuit against acura for the 99-03 TL transmissions. They also had a recall to put a small oil pump inside your transmission. It was probably done already by the previous owner but you may want to check it out.

My AC and heater blower just completely stopped working in my car a couple days ago. I didn't even break into that yet. If you com up with something on yours let me know.

Kase28533, I just had the exact same problem. I am curious if you experiened the same and have come up with resolution. The heater just stoped working, would blow but cold air. Today the AC quit blowing as well, just about a week after the heater issue. Have you been able to find resolution? Thanks
