1997 RL blowing wiper fuse - Could the Switch be the issue?

Blew a few of the 30A fuses so I replaced the wiper motor and in doing so inspected the wiper linkage / transmission to make sure it wasn't binding.. still happening. but the wierd thing (and i should have thought about this) is that the wipers always park in the down (normal parked) position.. if the motor were the issue they would get stuck partially up or down.. so I think the issue may be the switch. Anyone run into this? thx. Al.

I should mention that in between replacing the fuses the wipers work.. I even tested them for 30 minutes on continuously yesterday while sprinkling with garden hose.. then I switch them on / off a few times and all was well.. then the fuse blew. weird.

it looks like your washer fluid motor is attached to the same fuse. usually a fuse pops on a dead short. Maybe the washer fluid motor is shorting out on something?

I thought about that and disconnected the electrical connection from the washer motor (behind driver side front wheel well).. same thing.. the fact that the wipers always "park" in the proper position tells me that the fuse must be blowing upon tuning them on or turning them off and I would think it would be during them turn on because if it was during turn off they would just get stuck wherever they were (Mid-stroke) when the fuse blew.. I'll keep searching thx.
