it sound likes u got a parasetic load. Charge the battery then connect the cablesand use a multimeterto see if the voltage drops at all. To see if the alternator is bad run the car and put the multimeter probes on the alternator output it should be atleast 12-14 volts.

trooper is right, something is drawing a current. Finding what it is is gunna be tough. Good luck

wut kind of battery do u have?

I had the same problem until i bought a Duralast (Gold Series)battery...pretty expensive but its worth it because the battery cabels are 3 times thicker and i could easilly run a sound system on it withour worrying.

Also if you thing a fuse is staying on it could be the engine light. This happened to my friends moms car. Take the engine light out and see if theres a change.

OOOOoooo i hate these kind of problems there tuff mofos to get.

another way to go about this cure is by pulling fuses with the car off
and the batt charged up. as you pull them note if there is
a small spark as its pulled. maybe make and break contact with
the fuse several times for your looking for a small load.

A few fuses are suppose to have that spark cuz there powered all the
time..ie clock raido1 ecm etc... i will check my 88 legend and see what
fuses are powered full time and what ones are not maybe between the 2
cars we can clober this 1.

Same problem with my 89 Legend 2.7...Its not the Battery or the Alternator...Have them checked anyways.....Ive had mine replaced after it blew on me....That didnt fix it.....You just have to drive it often at highway speeds...it will prematurely kill your alternator but just keep your warranty reciept..and youll get it replaced for free...Have it checked by a mechanic....and hope to get lucky if they find a drain...Ive noticed the lock button is broken on my legend and it always click and locks...that might be it for me...I dont it though...I always carry jumper cables and a battery charger with me..just in case...ive been stranded before...

found a big TSB on legend 's not fully charging on short road trips starter demand is not refilled during the short commute.
larger batt and a long drive now and then were its fix.

i also ran into a bad fan timer on 1 that would drain the batt
car would run the fans hours after the car was shut off and cooled down.

also the glovebox light can stick.

i hope these lead you the right way :)

I have an 89 Legend V6 coupe.

The battery was purchased in April this year. Car sits a lot in the garage--my elderly mother doesnt drive it much. It's got about 73K miles.

Tried jump starting it with my wife's Honda Odyssey. First the instrument panel lights came on, when I turned the key, heard a click, the lights went out, and no more lights or power with the jump start.

Called AAA, he jumped it and the car started right up. Ran the car for about an hour--drove around. Parked it, shut it off, tried to start it again--got a series of clicks, some panel lights--no start.

Ideas? Alternator?

What battery charger works best in your opinion? I might rent/buy one.

Thanks for your ideas on this.

maybe there's a altenator device didn't charge the battery. i thinks you must change it with the new one. good luck
