I have a 1997 Acura CL, the driver side power window motor has died, the window is stuck in the down postion, anyone have any suggestions how to go about trouble shooting? |
Hey there, you might have been fixed this problem, but if you haven't here is why it doesn't work. The motor that does the power window should be ok, but the string that goes through the motor might have been broken. here is what i did when i had this kind of the problem: i took the sting from bike( bicycle) and exchange it with a broken one, and now it works. Try this, if it doesnt work, reply me.

In my case, I think the wire did not break, but became kinked, causing the motor to slip, build up torque, and yank the string out.
Using the original wire, I tried placing the one dislodged nub at the end of the wire (of two) back into the track jockey; unfortunately, the kinks make the motor slip, and the whole wire "loop" seemed too tight for the track. Since the motor is still good, I'd really rather not reman this assembly, but I could use a few tips. |
