99 stereo installation problem
#1
First off I am new to imports. I have been trying to install a HU into my sisters 99 2.3 cl. I can't get the damn thing to work! I checked fuses and nothing was wrong but the power wires aren't getting power. This is pissing me off and my sister even more. I guess it would be a bad wire but I have no idea where to look. Is this a common problem?
Thanks
Ryan

quick question.
are you replacing the sterio because the old 1 didnt work?
if so there may be old problems there that need to be fixed first.
if the old 1 worked and you cant find power now, then you need to look for a blown fuse.
there has to be power in that plug some where.
did you know that electronics work on smoke? try letting the smoke out nd you will see they dont work anymore.

The old one worked except for the cd player. I pulled that out and put the new one in but it does not get power. All the fuses are good. I checked all the wires and none have any power at all.

wherman, that trim panel, beleive it or not, pops right off, its on there nice and tight. try poping out the shifter trim, then using a panel popper, or a flathead and popping off the trim around the bezel.. should do the trick
as for your power issue, do you know the unit your installing is legit? could be a faulty unit too.., sometimes the units themelves, especially one with higher power demands have fuses on them? i know it sounds dumb.. but ive seen it happen..
what unit are you trying to install?
