1998 Acura CL Keyfob issue
2 Attachment(s)
I just bought a 1998 Acura CL 2.3L from a buddy of mine and I seem to be having some issues with the keyfob. I assume the security system inside the car is functional because the red security light flashes, however on the fob itself does not seem to work. The buttons depress properly but the red light does not come on (even with a new battery installed). When I opened it up moving the circuit board slightly causes the red light to flash but there doesn't appear to be any damage to the circuitry itself. Attached below are photos of the board; the solder points all seem to be fine and nothing appears amiss. Do I just need a new keyfob or is there a way to fix this issue?

Probably time to buy a new one, an electrical engineer could troubleshoot it (could be a cold solder joint) but he or she would cost a lot more in labor than just buying a new one.
