Hail damage but fixed- good deal?
Hi, new here
I'm in the process of buying a new 2011 MDX with advance package. Trouble is, only one in the tri-state area in the ext/int colors I want has minor hail damage from a storm recently. Dealer is getting it fixed professionally (I think some sort of suction process where the paint is unmarred) and promises it will be good as new. We have agreed on $1000 over invoice plus he's giving me a decent deal for my (old) trade-in (about $500 more than the average trade-in value).
My question: Should I demand more discount due to the hail damage history. It's only cosmetic and I'm told will be completely repaired before I take it home. I'm concerned about resale value, as I think it may be on the CARFAX now, but if it is completely fixed and I plan on driving the vehicle for a long time, would it even matter?
Your thoughts?
